Edna Warren Memorial Award for Young Pianists |

Edna was a member of the Royal Schools Music Club for well over 70 years (she joined when she was 16)! Edna passed away in 2005, and due to her wishes, and the generosity of her family, in particular Genevieve Warren, a bequest was made to the Club in her memory, to set up a piano award for young pianists. The announcement of this bequest was made at the 80th Anniversary High Tea in October last year.
The juniors programme was particularly dear to Edna's heart, and she co-ordinated these concerts tirelessly for many years. Her wish was that the award should be for young pianists, so the eligibility has been set to "16 and Under". The Edna Warren Memorial Award will take place every uneven year in October. alternating with the Gertrude Carey Memorial Award for Piano Recitals which takes place every even year, also in October.
