Congratulations to Stephanie Jones, winner of the 2010 Royal Schools Music Club Anniversary Scholarship.
This Scholarship, awarded every second year, attracted 11 applicants, of which nine auditioned on 1st May. They were: Marlene Crone (Violin), Rachel Hardie (Voice), Stephanie Jones (Guitar/Saxophone), Elise Keeley (Voice), Joanna Norman (Voice), Alessandro Pittorino (Pipe Organ), Joseph Pullella (Violin) and Aaron Tuckey (Piano/Composition).
The adjudication panel commented on the high standard of all performers, and selected three for the final round on the morning of 13th June. They were: Marlene Crone, Stephanie Jones and Joanna Norman. ![]() The Scholarship was awarded to Stephanie Jones. Stephanie would use part of the scholarship money to attend the Adelaide International Guitar Festival in November 2010 which is directed by Slava Gigoryan. At the moment, Stephanie is also preparing an audition CD for the International Guitar Competition which will be held at the Festival. As Stephanie is also very interested in Jazz music, she would use the other part of the scholarship to purchase a good jazz guitar so that she could pursue her dream of learning the jazz guitar. Stephanie will be performing for us again at the Club later this year. The Royal Schools Music Club wishes her well in her musical journey and future. The Royal Schools Music Club is indebted to the panel of three adjudicators Su Lloyd, Joseph Patroni and Peter Younghusband for the dedicated and thoughtful way in which they conducted the selection process. |
